Frequently Asked Questions

Why are baseball cards in the late 1980s and 1990s considered the Junk ERA of Wax?

When it comes to an ERA of baseball cards that are often overlooked while the overall value is much lower than vintage baseball cards before the start of 1970 and many of the modern-day baseball cards, it simply comes down to the overload of production of these baseball cards. Most, if not all, of the major baseball card manufacturers produced high quantities of these baseball cards while not putting restrictions or unique approaches to them to offer any true value.

This, in return, landed the 1980s and 1990s as the Junk ERA of Wax while holding little value. In comparison, while base cards of modern sets also hold little value, baseball card products being released now feature insert sets including parallels and Short Prints, which are number to low quantity as well as autographs, memorabilia cards, and other high-end inserts to increase the values of these baseball cards.

Are 1990 Fleer Baseball Cards worth money?

While a majority of the 1990 Fleer Baseball card set have little value, there are some cards that can hold value for sports card collectors.

Most of these baseball cards are high-graded cards from top-tier grading services such as Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), Sportscard Guaranty Corporation (SGC), and Beckett Grading Services (BGS).

Among the most valuable 1990 Fleer baseball cards is the 1990 Fleers Soaring Stars Ken Griffey Jr which recently sold in early April of 2023. A PSA 10 1990 Fleer Ken Griffey Jr Soaring Stars insert card sold for $4,000.
